Why this site exists

Ask three arborists to look at the same backyard tree and you'll often get three different numbers, sometimes a few hundred dollars apart, sometimes more. That's not one of them padding the bill. Removal is priced on risk and access as much as on raw labor hours, and companies weigh those two things differently depending on their crew, insurance, and equipment. The calculator on the home page works from height, proximity to structures or power lines, whether the stump comes out too, and your ZIP code, since labor rates alone can shift a quote 20 to 30 percent between markets. The full calculator goes further, adding tree condition and debris hauling. Neither one replaces a written quote. Both get you close enough to spot a number that's obviously off before you commit to it.
